(Before X H. Carew, Esq., Warden.) Wednesday, 9th July. Ah Nung and Ah Choon were fined respectively ss. and 205., with costs of court, for mining without a license, and in default were committed to gaol for three days and seven days respectively. The application of P. Curtain for lease of section 39, block X., Tuapeka East, was adjourned for one week. Tho applications of Ebenezer Jackson and William Smellie, for agricultural leases in block IV., Waitahuna East, were adjourned for one month, for survey. The application of Alexander Robertson for agricultural lease of sections 40 and 42, block IV., Tuapeka East, was granted. The application of David Davis and party for protection for sixty days for a quartz claim in Munros Gully was granted, subject to two men being employed to test the reef.
