MINERS' RIGHT FRANCHISE.

(To the Editor.) Sin, — I perceive from the letters of your correspondents that local elections have been influenced by the votes of miners residing in another district. The Returniug Officers must have overlooked the third clause of the " Miners' Ki"ht Extension Act, 1872," which I copy : — " jSTo person holding a miner's right under the said Act (18GG) or this Act shall bo entitled to exercise his franchise in respect thereof in any district of the colony unless he shall have bet n resident continuously in such district during two months immediately preceding tho nomination of candidates for such election." How this may affect the elections, I know not. — I am, &c, A Lookek-ox.
