BOA RD OF WARDENS.
(To tU Editor.) Sib, — As we are likely to be well employed for the next few weeks — electing members for the Provincial Council, I think at the same time we ought to make some endeavor to make the preliminary arrangement for having a Board of Wa~ - dens elected for thia district. Such a boasd would be a great boon to a large number of cattle owners in this remote part. Any person taking a ride from what is known as Fonton's Hill, towards the Tuapeka basin, will see how nicely the ranges are dotted with sheep, which means starvation for cattle. Our Inspector of Depasturing Licenses, has been requested to have them removed ; but what action that gentleman has taken in the matter is best known to himself— n* all events the sheep are still brov.si ■ quietly on the cattle country. 1 ho some one will take the matter in hand, and bring it prominently before the public. lam sure such a board would be a great benefit to the discrict. — I am, &c-> Fact.
