A CORRECTION.
(To the Editor.) Stk, — Tn your issue of the 15tli May appears a letter from a Bald Hill Flat correspondent, in which he states " That yold was got within the last few months in Mr. M'Donou^h'a sections, when cutting the foundation for the new roua*\ and by the prospects it would pay £10 per week. I may mention that the ground was offered for sale for mining purposes." Your correspondent states that which he cannot demonstrate. The prospect obtained was a few very fine specs to a dish. Every miner is aware that the colour may be obtained anywhere on the iroldfields. That it would not pay tenpence per week, any miner can prove for himself by prospecting the said foundation. I never offered the land for sale for mining purposes. It appears to me that your correspondent, or .his informant, wishes lo do me a direct injury, as I have applied to purchase these sections, which I have considerably improved. — I am, &c, * J. M"Donough.
