ALEXANDRA.

(From a Correspondent.) The weather still keeps fine. Slight frosts have set in, followed by occasional showers, which keep up a moderate supply of water. The river Molynenx is exceedingly low, and a great many parties have taken up claims about the Six-Mi!p, and are doing pretty well. The Great United Company (Craig, Fasandier and party), are getting on well with their paddocking. They are about 22 feet deep, but have struck nothing great as yet. Their trucks and tramway are working splendidly, and no doubt, in a few weeks, will find the bottom. Sandy Point. — Messrs. Plarin and party are working on the improved principle with their stone ditches, which saves about 25 per cent., and are doing exceedingly well. Messrs. Ryan and Fox, working on the same principle, are getting very good returns. Plunket Brothers, on the same line, are making fair wages. Poverty Beach. — Knowles, of the Earnscleugh Grand Junction claim, has got his pump and wheel in full working order, and expects to strike the wash next week, and no doubt, by the prospect, it will pay him handsomely. Messrs. Noble and Ballentyne, having a fair supply of water, are making good headway in the banks, which pay them good wages. Messrs. Young, Patterson, and Co., with their eight hours system, are making good use of their water and tearing the banks to pieces, and are getting well remunerated. Manuherikia. — Drummey and party are doing pretty well, having a good system of gutting rid of their tailings, and a good supply of water, which makes their claim valuable. The Mannherikia Cos. No. I and 2 are doing well, both on the terraces and on the bank of the Manuherikia.
