Sib,— -Having been informed that some individual has been circulating a rumor ihat I have been making myself Gonspicuous in opposition to the construction of the Lawrence Railway, I wish to inform my numerous friends in the Tuapeka district that the individual above referred to has made a statement that does not pontain one word of truth, Moreover, J have never heard any good argument against it, nor have I ever, in word or deed, expressed myself either in favor or otherwise. — I am, &c, G.
