RAILWAY HANDICAP, of 15 soys. ; entrance, £1 ; distance, l£ miles. Open only to horsos the bona fide property of residents within 20 miles of Balclutha, and must have been in their possession one month prior to the race. PUBLICANS' HANDICAP, of 40 soys. ; with a Sweepstake of 1 guinea added; distance, If miles ; nomination, 2 guineas ; acceptance, 1 guinea. Weights declared at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, the 22nd. SELLING RACE, of 15 soys. ; entrance, 1 soy. ; weight for age ; distance, 1£ miles. The winner to be sold for £15 — any surplus to go to the Race Fund. CONSOLATION HANDICAP, of 10 soys ; entrance, 10s . distance, 1 mile. RULES. 1. The decision of the Stewards in all cases to be final. No entries received unless on this condition. 2. No person to enter a horse unless a Subscriber of two guineas to the Race Fund (Hack Race excepted) : and no person to nominate unless both owner and nominator be Subscribers to the same amount. No person to nominate for more than one owner. 3. General entries to be made to the Secretary or Stewards, on Monday, 21st April, at the Crown Hotel, at or before 8 o'clock. 4. The Rules of the Dunedin Jockey Club strictly adhered to. 5. Fifty per cent, to be deducted for horses walking over. 6. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount for expenses. 7. Correct Jockey costume insisted upon, and a fine of one guinea will be enforced for coining to the scales or riding in wrong colors. 8. All entries and acceptances must be in sealed covers, addressed to the Secretary or Stewards, Crown Hotel, Balclutha, containing entrance money, description and age of horse, and colors to be worn by the rider.
