BALD HILL FLAT RACES.
A meeting was held at Crossan's. Hotel, Bald Hill Flat, on the 4th instant, for the purpose of taking steps to hold a lqcaj. race meeting. All the principal residents of the locality were present. Mr. James Simmonds was voted to the chair, and opened the proceedings by briefly stating the object of the meeting. Mr. M'GHunis moved : " That the boundaries of the Bald Hill Eacing district be defined ; and that they be Blackinan'B G-ully, the Molyneux, the Qbelisk Range, and Shingle Creek." Mr. J. Lythgoe seconded the motion, which was agreed to. The proposition of Mr. M'Grinnis, seconded by Mr.. Tohill, "That the district meet should be designated t/he Bald Hill Flat district race meeting, aud that the races be held within half a mile of Bald Hill," was also adopted. On the motion of Mr. Hugh Crossan, the first meeting was fixed for the 17th March. .. . It was resolved to elect a committee of seven, and the following gentlemen were appointed :— Messrs. J. King, 11. Heron, J. Lythgoe, R. Webb, Pierce Carrol, Henry Tohill, and M'G-innis. A subscription list was drawn up, and £15 12s. collected in the room. Immediately afterwards, the Committee met, and energetically commenced work. A sub-committee was appointed to lay off the course, and fix a time for future meetings. The various officers were also appointed, Mr. R. Webb being elected Secretary.
