A. meeting of the Board was held on the 23rd. There were preßent the Chief Commissioner, and Messrs Tolmie andßutterworth. The application of Mr J. W. Rregor to have the lan<i described ia application No. 442 embodied in any le se for run No. 443, as contained in original application was refused. The Rev. M. A. Dasent applied to have a p-irt of the Union Church reserve, Na^eby, set aside for Church of England purposes. The application was referred to the Warden for report. Mr J»hn Hartley desired the Board to cancel lease of quarry reserve, Papakaio, held by Mr i>. A, Douglas, b -cau^e he did not work the same. No license existing. 'I he Town Clerk at Clyde requested that the Board woild not grant the bridge site at (')yde to any but the Towa Council of Ulyde N T oted Ihe repirt of Mr Warden Robinson on Messrs Sander's application to pu- chase 80 acr*B on run No. 206. was considered, and the application granted. Report from Mr Warden Borton re application of Mr Kemp for lease of one acre on Gorge Creek, on the road between Roxburgh and Alexandra waß entertained, and the application wa9 grants 1 on the usual terms, and in setting ruuholders' consent. Applications to purchase lands under agricultural lease were granted to Michael John Malaghan, as follows .-—section 106, block 5 ; section 7, block 7 ; sections 18 and 101, block 5, Shotover. An application from the Secretary to the Progress Committee at St, Bathans, to have the town surveyed and offered for sale, was referred to the Warden for report. The application of Mr Spence to purchase the site of his quarters at Queenstown was considered. The report of Warden Beetham relative thereto showed that the valuation was reasonable. It was decided that the site be sold at next autumn sa'e with valuation. Mr Alexander Brown, Secretary to the Hawkesbury Koad District, requested that the fees received for quarry licenses in the district he handed over to the Road Hoard, to keep the roads in repair. The Board had no power to act in the matter. The application of P. F. Sfcoddart, Captain of the Hampden Vo'unt°er3, for sections 10 and 1 1, block 24, Hampden, for erecting a drill shed on, was referred to the Government. The application of Samuel Symonds, Secretary to the Arrow Miners' Association, for permission to choose a section in Arrowtown for a site for a building to be used as a Miners' Institute was referred to the Government. Relative to John Mackay'a application, granted last week, for exchange of his goldheld lease for a lease under the Waste L >nds Act, 1872, the Board Tas asked to decide the amount of the purchase-money, referred to in clause 62, which will have t« be paid. The matter was referred to the Provincial Solicitor. With rrgard to the application of George Fraser, for a sawmill license at Maungatua, over ground for which Mr Law3on also was an applicant. It was resolved that Mr Lawson's rights be maintained, on payment of liceme to-day. The consideration of Messrs Robertson and Co. 'a application, to purchase five acres of land at < ine-Mile Creek, near Queenstown, for a woollen factory, was adjourned until next meeting. Messrs Connell and Moodie, on behalf of Mr W. A. Low, submitted application for a coal lease. Agreed to, on the usual terms, as embodied in memorandum. Road to be surveyed by District Surveyor. Mr G. G. Russell applied, on behalf of Messrs Stuart and Kinross, for pre-emptive right on run No. 333. Granted. A survey of run to be extended from lease. This concluded the business, and the Board adjourned.
