CLERK OF THE COURSE : Mr. J. A. Mooney. PROGRAMME. MAIDEN PLATE, of 15 soya. For all horses that never won public money. Entrance, 305.; weight for ase ; distance, one mile and a half. TAPANUI HANDICAP, of 30 soys. Nominations, with 2 guineas entrance fee, receivable by the Secretary up till 8 o'clock p.m. on Thursday, 23rd January, 1873. Distance two miles. HURDLE RACE, of 15 soys. Open to all horses. Distance, 2 miles ; over 8 flights of hurdles ; weight for age ; entrance, 30s. CONSOLATION HANDICAP, of 10 soys. For all beaten horses. Distance, one mile and a half : entrance, one guinea. HACK RACE, of 10 soys. One mile heats. Confined to horses being the bonct fide property of the person entering same at least one month prior to the 24th January, 1873, and residing within fifteen miles of Tapanui. No weight under 10 stone. Entrance, 20s. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Mares and geldings allowed 31bs. All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whoever they maj appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of thf programme shall be final. No person shall be allowed to enter oi run a horse for any race in this Programme (post entry races excepted) unless the latter be qualified as the bonct fidi property of a subscriber to the Race Func of not less than two guineas. Entries to be received by the Secretarj up to nine p.m. on Thursday, 23rd Jan vary. Entrance money, enclosed witl name, age, and pedigree (if any) of th< horse, and name of owner and colors o: rider. Any Jockey riding except in the colors entered will be fined £2. Five per cent, will be deducted fron he gross amount of all stakes, for expenses. Three horses to start or no race.
