THE LITE REV. MR. WILLIAMS
The unfortunate accident to CoT>| and Co's coach, at Lookout Point, on Fiday, Dec. 20th, caused such severe injures to the Rev. Mr. Williams, the much rfepected clergyman of the Baptist Clurch Dunedin, that he died the following Sunday morning. The deceased minister was on his way to Lawrence, intending tohave lectured at Toknniairiro on Friday, vhen tliß accident which has proved fatal, took place. He had consented to preacl) the sermons in connection with the annverRary of the Lawrence Wesleyan Church on Sunday, Tt was on the morning of that day a telegram was read from the pulpit announcing his death. A deep im-
pression was produced on every one present by the unexpected announcement, and in the evening service, at which a Jatgo-numHor wero present, suitable referenco was made by the minister to tltop solemn evpnt. The quarterly meeting of the Lawrence Circuit expressed their sense of the sad event, by the following memorial, which they have forwarded to the widow of the deceased : " The Quarterly Meeting has heard with deep sorrow of the sudden departure from thjs world of the Rev. John Williams. Th 3 meeting, deeply sympathising with Met Williams in her very painful bereave- 'j ment, fervently prays that the .Father cf Mercie3 will grant her supporting grace ii this time of need, and that He will sano tify to the Church the great loss sus tamed by the removal of our veneratec friend to hia heavenly home.
