This Society has been formed by an alteration of the Constitution <f the Second New Zealand Building and Mutual Investment Society, 1864. By its Constitution it k able to transact every description of business usually undertaken by Building Societies, both on the terminating and the permtpenfc principle. Two Scries of Shares <n the terminating system are at present iD force —ouo dating from February, 186-1, and the othe:« from February, 1870, The Soliety has the power to start now series of such shares at any time when it may appear advisable. Tno New Series of Shales, called Shares of Clas* A and Class B in thl Permanent Series, are now being issued. Shares in Clas3 A are of the amount of twenty-five pounds each, the principal being paid up in one sum. Cv these half-yearly dividends are paid at the rate of nine per cent, per annum, and an annual bonus out of the surplus profits. They miy be withdrawn at any time on three montis' notice, and form the most eligible investment for surplus funds now to be found in the nronoy market.
