At the last range, Frederic and Christie were ties for first place, with one shot each to go. Christie made an outer and Frederic a centre. The latter therefore takes first prize. Fourth Match. This, the fourth match of the series, took place at the Anderson Bay Butts, at two o'clock, on Saturday afternoon. The weather being fine, and the sky sufficiently cloudy to veil off the sun's rays, the firing as expected, was excellent throughout the match. The five prize-winners üßed rifles as follows :— Tressider, a Kerrj Wilson, a Metford; Christie, a Kerr; M'Kenzae, a Martini fienry j and Lieut. Muir Kerr, Messrs Jamieson and Taylor, used the ordinary Government rifles, and made splendid practice with them, while Messrs Cato and Fuller used the Martini Henry weapon without the deduon sight, and likewise proved themselves masters of the implement. There were a considerable number of visitors present during the afternoon, some of whom displayed their bad taste by making remarks on the shooting more calculated to upset the competitors than assist them.
