THE VOLUNTEERS.
The match between ten officers aud ten non-commissioned officers and privates of the battalion, was tired at the Anderßon's Bay range, on Bficamber 6th, on the following conditions, viz. : seven shots, at 200, 500, and 600 yards ; Wimbledon targets and position ; Government rifles and ammunition ;no sighting shots, &c. The weather was all that could be desired, and, as was expected, some good shooting was made. Owing to the absence of two of the officers, the match was shot by eigh,t a-side only. Lieut. Douglas is the highest scorer for the officers, with a splendid score of 70 j and .Sergeant Cowie and Corp. M'Gregor jtie as highest scorers for their antagonists, with 64. As will be seen- from the spores, the officers were victorious by. 15. points. "Mr Conn,' of the .
