Richard Heritage for being drunk and disorderly, was given the option of paying a fine of 103, or residing seven days in the watchhouse.

Percy Geeves pleaded guilty to a charge of cruelly illusing his horse. Constabb Bamford said .that on the 11th Nov. on the road to Tuapeka Mouth, he saw Geeves beating his horse across the head with a stiok The blows did not cut the skin , but left bruises. Geeves stated that the horse had started off at a dangerous place, and he had beaten it to prevent it doing so again. The Resideni^Ma {istrate said as it did not appear the horse was seriously injured, he would nat inflict a heavy penalty ; but he cautioned defendant to treat his horses in a proper man-* ner. Fined 6s and costs 6s 6d. v

Morison v. Roberta. This was a claim of LS 15a, for expenses as a witness in the case of Mears v. Roberts, heard in the District Court. Defendant paid L 2 10a into Court.
