The brig Thonvia^ud... Henry that arrived at the t earta yesterday afternoon from the tfluff with 150,000 fret of timber for Lyttelton, proceeds on her voyage with the first favorable wiud. The S'orra iiird left the Bluff at 11 p.m. on tbe 24tk, experienced strong notth-east wind with heavy suas to arrival, arrived at the Heads at midnight on the 25th, and anchored till 5 ihe following morning, when she proceeded oa to Port Chalmers, thence to town. We are indebted to the steward for flies. We learn that the ketch Flying Squirrel, that sailed hence on September 28th with provisions for Martin's Bay, had twice been within a few miles of her destination, when adverse gales caused her to run to Stewart's Island for shelter, at which place she was on the 16th instant. October 29. The brigantine Annie Moore arrived this morming with a cargo of timber from Havelock, andproceeded to Dunedin to discharge cargo. The French barque Cantabre, 331 tons, Captain Bouze, arrived at the Heads last evening, and signalled for a tug. The Geelong immekiately got up steam, and towed the baique inside the Heads, where she anchored for the night, and this morning was brought to a discharging berth. Capt. Bouze reports leaving Mauritius on September 18th, with 220 tons of sugar for Dunedin, and 120 toii3 for Lyttelton, the whole of which is coosigned to Messrs .Dalgety, Nichols, and to. Strong favorable winds, accompanied with rain, characterised a smart passage of 39 day*. We learn that the brigantine Arohitecte Renaud was expected to leave the Mauritius for Dunedin or Lyttelton on September 25. October 31. • The 3 s. Albion, from Melbourne, via the Bluff, with passengers, car^o, and the Suez mail, left the Bluff last evening at 5 o'clock, experienced fre-sh S. W. winds, passed the s s. Kangitoto teii miles north of the Nuggets, arrized at the Heads at 3 30 this morning, and steamed alongside che hulk Califernia at 5 a.m. Her passengers and mails were conveyed to Duneditt by the Harbor Company's steamers on their murning trips. The s.s. Kangitoto sailed last evening for Melbourne, via the Bluff. The ship Otago, 993 tons, Capt. Stuart, arrived ab the Heads this morning from New. * castle, coal laden, and aigiiallcd for a tug, oa which the Geelung proceedeil to the Heads. Tlic Otago made the run across in nine and a-nalf days, and brings a few passengers, 1,450 tons of coals, and a shipment of coke. November 1. The coasters Annie and Hope for Moeraki, and Advance for Waikouaiti, sailed last evening. The s.s. Pretty Jane arrived last nifht from the Molyneux, aud passed up to Dunedin. The ketch Flying Squirrel, for Martin's Bay, put into the Bluff yesterday for provisions. The Taranaki arrived from Lyttelton at 2.40 this afternoon, having left there at 7 p.m. yesterday. She- was taken into the Graving Dock for cleaning and painting Captain Daniels, formerly of the steamer Wallabi, is said to have joined the New Zealand Steam Company's service. November 2. Tbe s.s. Pretty Jane sailed la?t night for Oamaru. ■ ' The coasters' Eliza M'Phee and Lloyds Herald, from Catlin's River, aud the Jane from Shag Point, arrived t'ais forenoon with cargoes. Ihe Rangatira arrived this afternoon from Lyttelton, and sails this evening for the Bluff. The s.s.
