Young Wallace is a dark dapple bay, stands 16i hands high, is six years old, and IB by the imported horse Sir William Wallace, out of a pure-bred Clydesdale mare. Young Wallace has proved himself a sure foal getter ; and his stock in the Tuapeka district are very promising. Young Abdallah is out of a thoroughbred mare, imported from Tasmania by John Weir, Esq. , of the Western District, Victoria ; is 8 years old, and has prpved himself a sure foal getter. He has left some of the most promising stock in the province in the Clutha District. Abdallah (bred by Mr. Batson in 1847) was got by The Provost, out of Barbara ; Barbara was by Plenipotentiary, out of Saffi, who was got by a son of Dick Andrews (Dick Andrews was by Joe Andrews, a son of Eclipse.) The dam of Saffi was got by Totteridge (Totteridge was- by Dungannon, a son of Eclipse), out of sister to Mariame, by Squirrel, out of Miss Meredith, by Cade (son of the Godolphin Arabian), out of the Little Hartley Mare. The Little Hartley Mare was by Barlot's Chflders (own brother to Flying Childers), out of Large Hartley Mare, whose pedigree in three generations can be traced to a royal mare. The Provost, the sire of Abdallah, was by The Saddler, out of Rebecca, by Lottery ; her dam by Cervantes, out of Antiception ; mare of her dam by Benningbrook (BenningbrookbyKing Fergus, a son of Eclipse). Terms, £2 each mare ; or Guarantee, £3. A 600 acre English grass paddock provided for mares, free of charge, without responsibility. Mares served last year not in foal will be served free this year. The dam of Hero was an imported Clydesdale mare, from Twofold Bay, bred by the Clyde Company. Hero was a prize taker at the Northern Pastoral and Agricultural Show, Oamarti; also at the Waikouaiti and Shag Valley Agricultural and Pastoral Show, Waikouaiti. Terms, L 2 10s.
