YOUNG ABEDALLAH WILL Stand this Season at Lancaster's Farm, Beaumont. PEDIGREE. Young Alpdallah is out of a thoroughbred mare, imported from Tasmania by John Weir, Esq., of the Western District, Victoria ; is 8 years old, and has proved himself a sure fpal getter. He has left some of the most promising stock in the province in the Clutha District. Abedallah (bred by Mr. Batsonin 1847) was got by The Provost, out of Barbara ; Barbara was by Plenipotentiary, out of Saffi, who was got by a son of Dick Andrews (Dick Andrews was by Joe Andrews, a son of Eclipse.) The dam of Saffi was got by Tqtteridge (Totteridge was by Dungannon, a son of Eclipse), out of sister to Mariame, by Squirrel, out of Miss Meredith, by Cade (son of the Godolphin Arabian), out of the Little Hartley Mare. The Little Hartley Mare was by Barlot's Childers (own brother to Flying Childers), out of Large Hartley Mare, whose pedigree in three generations can be traced to a royal mare. The Provost, the sire of Abedallah, was by The Saddler, out of Rebecca, by Lottery ; her dam by Cervantes, out of Antiception ; mare of her dam by Benningbrook (Benningbrook by King Fergus, a son of Eclipse). Mares served last year not in foal will be served free this year. Abedallah's stock in the Clutha District are turning out the most durable weightcarrying hacks in the province. The Clydesdale Entire W«aO JV^^t' Horse YOUNG GLASGOW GEOKDY WILL serve a limited number of Mares this Season, at Tubman's Farm, Moa Flat, and will travel surrounding Districts. Young Glasgow Geordy is 3 years old, stands 16 hands 3in. high, is a bright bay, with black points, has a beautiful flat bone, and is of immense strength. He is out of the imported Clydesdale mare Young Pride, imported from Tasmania, the property of Philip Mylrea, Esq. Glasgow Geordie, his sire, was bred by Mr. Andrew Warnock, Bearyards, Bishopbriggs, near Glasgow, out of his prize mare Maggie, whose stock have a)l been prize-takers at cattle shows in and around Glasgow, and have all sold at high prices. His sire was the well-known horse Champion, who was bred by Mr. Fleming, Auchenbowie, Kilmacombe, out of a celebrated prize mare. He gained prizes as a colt at almost every show in Lanarkshire. When four years old he gained the first prize of £40 and a silver medal at Glasgow, where 28 horses competed ; when five years old he gained the first prize of £40 and a medul at Gatehouse, O'Fleet ; also the same year he gained the first prize of £30 at the Highland Society's Sliow, Dumfries ; nrken six years old he gained the first prize of £40 and medal at Gatehouse, O'Fleet ; when seven years old he gained the first prize of £40 at Glasgow ; and same year he gained the medium gold medal at the Highland Society's Show at Kelso, being then outlawed from other than extra stock ; also, first prize of £50 at Carlisle, and second at the Great International Exhibition, London, in the year 1862 ; thus leaving him to be descended from the best blood in the kingdom. Glasgow Geordy, as a colt, gained prizes at the following Shows : — Maryhill, Kii'kintulloch. Bishopbriggs, and Johnstown ; and since landing in Otago, first prize at Tokoraairiro, Taieri, and Dunedin. Terms, £3 10s. ; Groom's Fee, ss.
