' Mr March, in his report on Immigration fer the year ending 30th June, 1872, states that 1046 statute adult immigrants have been introduced, classified as under — 145 families, equal to 365 statute adults. NOMINATED IMMIGRATION. '•'" ' The number of applications fornominated passages during the twelve months ended the 30th of June last, is stated by a Parliamentary return to have been for 1514 statute adults— 6l34 for the North Island, and 900£. The applications were received from the following places :— Nelson, 15 ; Blenheim, 2 ; Greymonth, 24£; Hokitika, 23; Christchurch, 317 ; Timaru, 110 ; Oamaru, 16 ; Dunedin, 3514 ; Invercargill, 484 » Riverton, 3 ; Auckland, 3264 ; Hawke's Bay, 123; Taranaki, 10J ; and Wellington, 1534.
