WASTE LAND BOARD.

The Waste Laud Board met at noon today. Prtsent, the Chief Commi?siouer of Crown Lands, Messrs Allan, Duncan, and Hughes ; and the following business was transacted.'
John Tweedie's application for a pastoral lease of about 1600 acres of newly discovered country, near Bleak Hill, on the Forest range, was received, ' the land to bo advertised and assesped.
Messr3 Oakden and Booth applied to have run 394, the license for which expires on February 24, 1874, assessed, with a. view to a new lease being offered for sale twelve months before the expiration of the license. The land was ordered to be assessed as early as convenient ; agricultural land (if any) to be examined. A similar application by Thomas C. Low was dealt with in the same manner. ;
The application of Arch. M'Leod for a lease of 50 acred near Wakofield, with runholder's consent, was referred to the Government.
A letter was read from James Patorson, , asking 1 for a reconsideration of bis request for a reduction of rent of his license at Clyde. D. M'Kellar wrote forwarding his objections to R. E. Dagg's application for a coal lease at Bannockburn. It was ordered that notice of the objections should be sent to Mr Oagg and to Messrs Gillies and Street, and that the papers be forwarded to the Warden for report. The reply Pii-rce and Washer to Mr j Dongee'er application to be allowed to construct a road across a tail-race, &c, was read.- .Mr Connell' (Connell and; Moodie) submitted a>letter from Mr Dongee, and applied for the Board's; decision on bis request, tor authority to construct a road and tailrace across a tail-race reserve. It was re* solved to give 'Mr Dongee permission to make a road ans tail-race across Pierce and. Washers-t ail-race; to box in tho same where necessary,' sp that the. latter be not obstructed ; no coal ta be taken out further < than necessary for a-oad - and tail-race, and , coal' to belong so> far to Dongee ; afterwards ! the Board will charge for Listening to dis- | pute, in terms, of the 16th clause of the :. Waste Lauds Act. i
Richard M'Kay. submitted a sketch of the land applied by him for a fellnioogery, at Ettrick, Referred to the Warden.
The following applications to purchase lands held under agricultural lease were approved : — Bobert Watson, section 8, block 18, Shotover; A. C. Thomson, sectioD 40, block 9, Shotover ; J. B. Luks (for whom Mr Connell appeared) section 1, Waihemo.
Letters were read from Messrs Webster and Teschmaker, complaining of delay in the survey of their applications in the Kauro district. Consideration deferred.
Plans of surveys of sites for proposed jetties for Williams and Archer, Queenstown, and Plaisted and Co., block 21, Shotover, were approved ; 100 feet frontage only, and to be at once chosen by the parties.
