Our R.M. and Warden has altered his days of visiting here from Friday J:o Tuesday. His first Tuesday visit was on the 3rd inst. E. W. Carew, W. A. Ijo\y, and Dr. Niyen were on the bench. There were a number of civil pases disposed of— the only one of any interest beipg pne pf illegal detention pf property, to wit, one white gander. Mr. John Bitches was, the complainant, apd Mr. John Beattie defendant ; the value pf the property wasthreeshillings. Thjs cage occupied the bench, fully 2 hours ; ultimately the bench decided $he gapder to be the prpperty of Mr. .1 think it a great pity the bench Bhould be cpmpelled to sit for 2 hpuvs over §o paltry a case.. At the clo.se of the case, Mr. Low rose to |cave the bench, an.d happened to touch Dr. Niven on the ann, who immediately fell off his. seat in a fit, which threw Courj' twhjch was crovyded) into gr.e.at cqnsternatiqn. Mr. Low and popstable M'G-ann rendered great service in bringing the Dr. round, and I am glad- to. say hejg now quite well again,. The Court then resumed, whenj a numbpr of mining applications were disposed of.
