STOCK REPORT.

Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report, for the week ending 31st August, as follows : -

Fat Cattle. — The number this week was unusually large, 95 head being yarded. Of these 72 head were sold, and the balance turned out. We sold 30 head at from L 5 7s 6d to L 8 10a for bullocks, and Lsss to L 7 for heifers ; equal to 255. per lOOlbs for good quality, and 209 for middling do.

Fat Sheep. — 630half-breds were penned. We sold 300 prime quality at 22s 6deach; balance turned out. We quote prime quality 4d. per lb, at which figure we have placed 350 half-breds.

Store Cattle. — We have enquiries for well grown stores for paddock fattening. We quote bullocks L 3 to L 3 10a ; mixed cattle, L 2 6b. Store Sheep. — No transactions.

Horses. — The demand ia confined to heavy draughts, and horses adapted for coaching, for which description the enquiry is fair. On Saturday next we sh;dl offer at our yards, ex Albion, from Melbourne, on account of Mr. John Trastrail, 14 heavy draught colts and fillies,- the thoroughbred entire King of Clubs, and a thoroughbred mare by King Alfred. We quote first-class draughts, L 45 to LSO; middling do, L 25 to L3O : first-class hacks and light harness horses, LlB to L 25 ; medium do, LlO to Ll2 ; light and inferior, L 3 to L 6.

Country Sale. — We held a sale at Andersona Bay on Saturday, 31st ult., on account of Mr. John Muir, and disposed of 25 head dairy cows at from 30s. to L 7«

Wool. — The telegrams received via California of the state of the London market are of bo contradictory a nature as to render them utterly worthless. We shall therefore have to await the arrival of the mail via Suez for trustworthy information.

Grain. — Wheat continues in good demand, and holders of good samples are firm at 5s per bushel. Oats are in better request, milling worth 2s to 2s 2d, feed Is lid per bushel. Barley wanted for malting. Good samples worth 5s 6d to 6s per bushel.
