WASTE LAND BOARD.
Amgust 28.
The Waste Land Board met at noon today. Present, the Chief Commissioner of Crown Lands, Messrs Allan, Duncan, and Hughes. Mr Reid, for J. W. Robertson and Co., was directed to apply for a bush license. The Chief Commissioner was authorized to act on the opinion of the Provincial Solicitor in the question of trausfering a coal lease from Nicholas, Jenkins, and Co. t* Edwards, Nicholas, and Martin. Messrs Docherty, Bastings, and Maokaey, were instructed that they were liable to the rent of licence for transfer to Messrs Herbert, Maekaey, and Co., and they were requested to pay the amount due. Licence was granted to .Samuel Goldstone to remove stove from the Quarry Reserve, Arrowtown, on condition that the Warden does not object. Henry Beer to be instruoted to submit a survey of the limestone quarry applied for, ace >mpanied by a Warden's report. Six months' protection was granted to Theophilus Daniel to prospect the shores of Milford Sound for minerals, from Ann's Point to Harrison's Coy«.
Ranger Hughes's report that the condibi mb of Mr Pollock's bush reserve had not bean complied with, was referred to the Government.
Messrs Lyon and Co., Instone and Co., Patenon, M'Leod, and Pollock, M'Dermid, M'Leod, and Howorth, applicants for mineral leases at Bligh'a Sound, did not appear. The petition for a cemetery reserve at Waikouaiti was directed to be forwarded to the Warden for his report.
J. C. Brown's telegram protesting against the sale of section 69, block 14, Glcnkenich, was read.
