BLUE SPUR. (From our Mining Correspondent.)

On the Blue Spur our water races are giving an abundant supply of water, which most of the claims are making gooil use of. Messrs. Livingston and Cu. washed up lately, and are now opening a new face in the lower end of their claim. Ou the Gabriels side most of. the claims are in full work. The Nelson Co., No. 1 claim, are washing down, and Messrs. Hales and Hinde are driving for a small blast. The Nelson Co. and the Great Extended Co. have again got into hot water with each other, in consequence of the former company's head race giving way ; but as the parties seem more in favour of settling the dispute by arbitration than by ltw, it is hoped the lat^i* metho-1 will be avoided.

The Blue Spur Mining Association had a public meeting the other night, and from th' 3 interest and practical views they seem to take in the different matters discussed, will no doubt work a deal of good, I may mention one rather happy thought, which came from the President — a sensible recommendation to the members to start by putting their own hojise to rights before interfering with their neighbours'. The idea was at once acted upon by the shareholders calling a meeting at .vi early date to consider the advisability of amalgamation.
