A NOVEL MODE OF EJECTMENT.
The Denver " Tribune " of the Ist inst. says: — There was an incipient earthquake on Monday morning last, in the A r icinity of Central City. It seems the " Leavitt" lode, claimed by Mr. Bela S. Buell as his property, has recently been producing very rich ore, and this has brought forward a contesting claimant to tho mine, who calls it an extension of the*" Elliot " lode.. Mr. Buell's workmen being in possession of the mine, on Monday morning, an attempt was made to get rid of the occupants by the rival party, who lowered a keg of powder part way down the main shnfc, and exploded it with a fuse. -The explosion shook the old granite lull's of the locality terribly, but fortunately did not injure the men in the mine. A second similar attempt was made, but the Sheriff very promptly and very properly interfered, and arrested the parties to this murderous attempt. Such diabolism as this ought to be severely punished.
