ANOTHER LAND SACRIFICE.

We have received the following telegram, re the application of Cargill and Anderson to purchase 20,000 acres of land in the Mount Benger district.

At the Waste Lands Board to-day, it was agreed to open for sale, under the 83rd and 123 rd sections, the 20,000 acres applied for by Cargill and Anderson. Mr.

Kinaston, Secretary to the Mount Benger Mining Association, telegraphed asking the sale to be postponed for three weeks.

It was resolved to reserve the application — Thomson not voting. The applicants were allowed to make the survey — Hughes dissenting. Cargill surrendered his lease on 20,000 acres.
