TuapeKA Times Office, Wednesday Evening. R. W. Capstick reports for the week anding May 28th that he ha-3 placed 450 merino' stor > weth-rs at Bs. ; 100 store merino ewes, 4 and 6-tooth, at 7s. 6d. each. Young ewes and cross hreds aro still in request. No quotations for cattle or horses. Enquiries are numerous for good store bullocks and spayed cows. Sheepskins (all merino) at last Saturday's sale 3 lots w re offered ; lot 1 brought Is. Hid. ; lot 2; 2s. lHd. ; lot 3, 3s. lOjd. each. Grain. — Wheat is looking up ; oats, quiet ; barley, placed a small lot of 60 bags at ss. per bushel ; grass seed, no quotations. Uags new Is. 3d. t ach. Messrs. Weight, Stephensos, and Co. report, for the week ending 25th~May, as follows :—: — Fat Cattle. — 33 head prime to middling quality were yarded, of which we sold 14 head, at from £4 15s to £6 10s. We quote prime quality, 18s to 20s per 100 lbs ; middling ditto, 153 to 17s. Fat sheep. — 120 ialf-breds penned, of which we sold only 50, at 11s 9d, the rest being turned out. We also sold privately 600 half-breds and merinos, prime quality, at 2|d per lb, and 200 merino ewes, middling quality, at 6s each. We quote priiae halfbreds, 2f per lb ; do merinos, 2£d to 2|d per lb. Store Cattle. — No transactions. Store Sheep. — We have no transactions to rep*ort, but the enquiry for all classes continues active. We quote half-breds, 2, 4, and 6-tooth, 10s to 11s ; do lambs, 7s to 7s Gd ; merino withers, 4, 6, and 8-tooth, 6s ; do ewes, 4 and 6-tooth, 5s to 5s 6d ; full mouthed, 3s 6d to 4s; mixed lambs. 4s 6d to ss. Horses. — There is a good demand for draught colts. Light sorts are not much enquired for. We quote first-class draughts, £45 to £50 ; medium do, £25 to £30 ; good hacks and light harness horses, £18 to £20 ; medium do, £10 to £12 ; light and inferior, £3 to £6., Grain.— Wheat is in- fair demand at 5s to 5s 3d per bushel, for first class samples. Oats, dull of sale. Feed worth Is 9d per bushel ; milling, - ls lOd to 2s. Barley, malting, in request. Good samples are worth 5s to 5s 3d per bushel.
