I There had been no arrivals at, or departures from the Tort at 2 p.m. today. The s.s. Alhambra for Melbourne via the Bluff, and s.s Gothenburg, for Northern Ports, were preparing for sailing at 3 p.m. A stroug squally N.W. wind has prevailed to-day, and at 1.40 this afternoon a signal was made at the Heads that a boat was drifting to sea. The s.s. Beautiful Star, having steam up was immediately despatched te render assistance. The signal was however made that the boat was out of danger. The s.s. Beautiful Star sailed from Port Chalmers on the 19th at 5 p.m. : arrived at Tiniaru at 11 a.m. on the 20th ; discharged half a boat load cargo, but as the sea became too heavy she could not discharge any more ; proceedecdj at 7 p.m. on the same day ; arrived at Akaroa at 6 a.m. on the 21st ; discharged and sailed at 9 a.m. ; arrived at Lyttelton at 5 p.m., head winds and heavy sea ; sailed from Lyttelton at 2 p.m. on the 22nd; arrived at at 8 p.m. ; discharged and took in cargo and sailed at 10 30 p m. ; arrived at Tinaaru at 11 a. m. on the 23rd ; remained there discharging and taking in cargo till 9 p.m. on the 24th and sailed ; arrived at Oamaru at 7 am. to-day, the 25th; discharged and sailed again at 8.15, and arrived here at 2.30 p.m.
