GOLDFIELDS DIVISIONS.

Sib, — Having for a long time noticed the suppression of the divisions in the Provincial Council, especially on questions affecting the interests of the Goldfields, I intend to forward them to y->u from time to time, and will feel obliged by your publishing them, so that the policy of the Dunedin papers may to some extent be defeated. — I am, &c, A Goldfields Member. Dunedin, May 20th, 1872. • Division on the motion to endow the Goldfields Hospitals with 20,000 acres of land each :—: — Ayes — 6. Messrs. Armstrong, Bastings (teller), Brown, J. C, Innes, Mervyn, Shepherd. Noes — 21. Messrs. Allan, Barr, Basstian, Bathgate, Blacklock, Bradshaw, Clark, Cutten, Green, Henderson, Hutcheson, Lumsden, Menzies, M 'Arthur, M'Dermid, M'Glashan, M'Lean, Reid, Smith, Thomson (teller), Webster. Division on Mr, Reynolds' amendment on Mr. Shepherd's motion relative to the petition praying that the attendance of the Warden and Gold Receiver shonld be more frequent at Alexandra :—: — Ayes — 13.
