A REMARKABLE PROPHECY.
The following, which is known as "Mother Ship ton's Prophecy," was Si'st published in 1488, and republished in 1641. It will be noticed that all the events predicted in it, except that mentioned in the last two lines — which is still in the future — have already come to pass : Carriage* without horses shall go, And accidents fill the world with woe. Around tho world thoughts shall fly In she twinkling of an eye . "Watprs sliall yab more wonders do; Ko»\- strange, hnt shall ha true. Tho ivnrM upside down shall b.?, And '^nld ba found at root of free. T'iroiigh hills men shall ride, Avkl ho hor j c or as^ be at his side. UiviT water men shall walk; SKs.l) ride, shall sleep, bhall talk. Tn the riir -v»en shall bo seen, In white, in bl.ick, in .orcen. Iro-1 in {-.he w.wr shall float, As e:>,.vv as n ivoodeu bout. Gold shall !»e! »c found and found In a land that's uofc now known. Fire and water shall wonders do, E wland sh;U at last admit a Jew. The world lo an end shall come In eighteen hundred ancl eiglity-ons.
