R. W. Capstick reports for the week ending 9th inst. ;—; —
The Havilah Hill sluicing claim and race, was sold by auction, yesterday for the sum of £935," purchaser Mr G.W. Langley, one of the shareholders.
At my sheep sale, yesterday, prices realised as follows :— SQO half bred ewes and wethers, 8s 6d to 13s each ; 2500 merino ewes, full and broken mouthed, brought from 2s 9il to 3s each ; store merino wethers, ditto., 4s to 4s 3d ; half bred lambs, 6s Gdjto 10s 6d, 50 Leicester ewes, 21s each ; 20 Leicester ewe lambs, 15s. Mr Mosely offered his ram lambs for, sale, which he sold 27 at prices varying from 35s to 70s each- There were other rams ofiered for sale in lots, and at from 27s 6d to 45s each. There is a good demand ■ for half bred sheep, and a slight demand for cattle, but cannot quote any advance in price. Grain market. — No sales to report.
