STOCK REPORT.

Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Cc, report for the week endii.g 23rd March, as follows :—: —

Fat. Cattle.— 2o head were yarded'which we sold at a slight advance on late nites. Prime quality brought 22s per lOOlbs ; good, 20. We also sold privately, 30 head, good quality, at 20s per lOOlba. . . Fat Sheep. — 500 were penned, which we sold as follows :—260: — 260 half-breds, fair quality but light weights, at 93 to 93 3d ; 110 half-breds, good quality, 11s ; 130 merinos, inferior quality, 6s 3d. We also sold privately, for forward delivery, 3200 at 2£ per lb ; 1100 at 2£, 800 at 2|d. We quote prime quality half-breds 2J per lb ; do, merinos, 2d. Fat Lambs. —We sold 55 at 7s 6d.

Store Cattle. — No transactions.

Store Sheep. — This class of stock is still in good request. We sold 3.500 full mouthed ewes at 33 each ; 1200 mixed sheep at 2s to 4s 9d ; 75 Leicester rams and ram lambs at L2ss to 1-4 each. We quote 2 and 4-tooth half-breds, 6s 6d to 7s ; lambs, 6s ; wethers, 4s 6d to 4s 9d ; do ewes, 4 and 6-tooth, 4s 3d to 4s 6d ; full mouthed, 3s ; broken monthed, 2s.

Country Sales. — We held a sale of dairy stock on Tuesday, 19th inst., at Meadow Head Dairy, Forbury, ou account of Mr. Jaokson. ' The attendance of buyers was . good, but the prices realised were low. 40 cows brought from 25s to ho 10s each ; 15 bullocks, 3 years old, 455 ; 'heifers, 30s each.

Hor3es. — There are enquires for a few good heavy draughts, and for light harness horses of a good stamp. Inferior sorts are quite unsaleable. We quote tirst-class draxights L4O to L 45 ; medium do, L 25 to L3O ; good hacks and light harness horses, LlB to L 25 ; medium, LI 2 to Ll4 ; light and inferior, nominal.

Wool. —By the arrival of the Suez mail, we have London "advices under date of 26th January, which say — " Our wool market looks very buoyant, and from the scarcity of wool it is evident .we shall have a further advance in price at the public sales to begin on Bth February." This has been confirmed by the telegram received by same mail, advising an advance over December prices of 2d per lb on greasy, and 3d per lb on washed and scoured.

Grain. — Good samples of wheat wanted, and readily saleable at 4s 6d to 4s 9d per bushel. Oats are in fair request at 2s per bushel for feed, and 2s Id to 2s 2d for milling samples. Barley — Good malting sells readily at 4s 9d to 5s per bushel ; inferior, unsaleable.
