FItHE Devils Creek Quartz Mining and Crushing Company is formed to work 1200 feet of qnartz lode, already •*• discovered near the junction of the Devils Creek with the Deep Stream, on the northern watershed of the Lammerlaw Range, about, ten mjles from the township of A trial crushing of thrje tons— taking half from where the lode crosses the creek, abput midway in the claim and half from the east spur, ab.out 100 feet from the creek— gave a ueturn of six ounces, e(jual to two ounces of gold to a ton-. There is a copious supply of water, capable of working fifteen heads of stampers j but as there are special facilities for further proving the lode, it is ' proposed to put in a drive on either side of the creek .at its l^vel ajid likewise to sink shafts on each ran?e, which will have the effect, ( of proving the lode to a depth of about 200 feßt, and whilst this is being done,, stone will be procured during the progress of the work for future crushing. It may be remarked that the trial crushing was not picked stone,' but taken from the whole width of the lode, varying from nine inches to two feet in width; -and furthermore, some- good stone has been found in the adjoining claim, Np. 1 West, , It is proposed to give the disepverers £1000 in paid-up shares, thus leaving a balance of £§000 available for the erection of machinery and buildings, cutting a road and water race, the latter ab,out half a mile in length and the right tp which water supply the discoverers have. • JJ; haj» been agreed by the promoters that la. per share be paid qn application ; tha.t 2*. 6d. be paid on allotment; and th,e remaining- 16s. 6d. in calls, periodically, as funds may be ro^uired ; and no call, to exceed 2a, 6d. a, month. r * _.-^ The Share List will be kept open until April 9, 1&72.
