Entrance, one guinea ; weight for age ; distance, one and a half mile. For horses that have never won an advertised prize. TAPANUI HANDICAP, of 25 sovg. Distance, one mile and three-quarters. Nominations, with one guinea, to be received up till nine o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 12th March. Acceptance, with one guinea, to be received by the Secretary before ten o'clock same night. HURDLE RACE, of 15 soys. ; over 8 flights of hurdles three and a half feet high ; weight for age ; distance, two miles. Entrance, one guinea. HANDICAP TROTTING RACE, of 10 soys. Entrance, one guinea ; distance, three miles. No weight under list. HACK RACE, of 10 soys. ; one mile heats. Confined to horses within a radius of ten miles of Tapanui. Entrance, one sovereign. No weight under lOst. RULES, 1. The decision of the Stewards in all cases -to be final. No entries received except on this condition. 2. No person to enter a horse unless a subscriber of one guinea to the race fund. 3. General entries to be made to the Secretary or Stewards on Tuesday, 12th March, at Commercial Hotel, at or before eight o'clock. 4. Rules of the Tuapeka Jockey Club strictly adhered to. 5. Three horses to start, or no race. 6. Five per cent will be dedx«cted from the gross amount of prizes, for expenses. 7. Correct jockey costume insisted upon, and a fine of one guinea will be enforced for coming to the scales or riding in wrong colours. 8. Parties entering a protest will require to deposit one guinea.
