EVER PERSEVERE.
"Wouldst thou boldly write thy name On the page of history ? "Wouldst thou see the way to fame, 411 unveiled of mystery ? Know that ignorance debases. Study Wisdom's garnered lore, And be gnided by the traces Of the pilgrims gone before — Pilgrims who Fame's portals through, Men whom nations now levere— Oijt have proved the password true : Ever persevere ! Heed not what cold cynics say Of the world's ingratitude ; TicepllMteth but to slay, Virtue js beatitude. Sinful joys partakers, Wanton pleasure ends in pain ; Through life's voyage shun such breakers, Strive safe harbour to attain. Look ahead, but not in dread, Always by the conscience steer ; Take thy soundings, heave the lead, iEver persevere ! Lose not heart, still labour on, Toil .evinces bravery j Bid dull, crawling sloth begone, Yield not to its slavery — Yield not, though its chains were golden ; Steadfastly with trouble cope j Uear in mind the maxim olden, " While there's life there yet is hope." Hope for fame— a glorious nameHope for all true hearts hold dear ; Striving yet may win the game — JEver persevere !
