MISREPRESENTATION.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, — In the case of Helen Morton v. Lewis, as reported in the "Daily Times" some few weeks since, but which I only saw a few days ago," Lewis is represented to have said that I gave him instructions to bring a housekeeper for Harry Jenkins. I beg most distinctly to contradict Mr. Lewis in this matter, and am surprised that he should have .used ivy liame in connection with it. Mr. Lewis well knew the character of the woman. «vho lived with Jenkins formerly ; and when Jenkins gave the order to Lewis, 1 told him not on any account to send any such person to him, as he did not mean it. Lewis, however, said "I don't care, so long as I get the money," ■which 1^ believe he has been paid. • I ask you to insert this letter, as the "Daily Times" is seltjom, s^en up here. — I am, &c,
, Mrs. C. Nibpeb, Butchers. Gully, Manuherikia.
