APPLICATION FOR A MINING LEASE. Lawrence, 12th February, 1872. To the Warden, Lawrence. SIR, — I have paid to the District Surveyor the sum required for the survey qf the following. Gold Mining Lease Application, as required by the Mining Leases Regulations of Otago, and I agree, upon the approval of this application, to execute a lease upon the basis therein stated, if the Governor shall think fit to grant the same. — I have the honor to be, sir, your obedient servant, EDWARD WALSH. Name and Address of Applicant — 1 Edward Walsh, Lawrence, gentleman. Style under whiph it is intended to conduct the Business — The Tuapeka Bush Gold Mining Cqmpany. Extent of Land applied for — Ten acres. Minimum number of men. to be employed by the Lessee — For the first six months, two men; subsequently when in full work, five men. Amount of capital proposed to be invested —Five thousand Pounds (£5000.) Proposed mode pf ivorking the land— Tiy ground sluicing. Precise locality, — Immediately below the Tuapeka Bush, on the Tuapeba River/ near its head. Terras for which lease required — Fifteen years. Time of commencing operations — Immediately on application being granted. The above application, and any objections thereto, .will be heard before the Warden, at Lawrence, on the 6th day of March, 1872. Any person desiring to object to the granting of a mining lease tjpon the said application, must, within 22 clear days frqm the date of the said application, lodge his objections at i»y office. W: L.
