I THE nnderaigned J,ohn Lomas, here- > by make application to register the Devil's Creek Quartz Mining and Crushing Company, Registered, under the provisions of " The Mining Companies Limited Liability Act, 18G5," and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every particular, namely : — 1. The name and style of the Company is the Devil's Creek Quartz Mining and Crushing Company. 2. The place of operations is at Devil's Creek, Larnmerlaw Ranges. . 3. The nominal capital of the Company ia Six Thousand Pounds, in six thousand Shares of One Pound each, one thousand shares of which are allotted to the promoters as paid-up shares. 4. The amount already paid up is nil. 5. The name of the Manager is John Lomas. 6. The Office of tho Company is at Waipori. 7. SIR, — I have p.iid to the District Surveyor the sum required for tho survey of the following Gold Mining Lease Application, as required by the Mining Leases Regulations of Otago, and I agree, upon the approval of this application, to execute a lease upon the basis therein stated, if the Governor shall think fit to grant the same. — I have the honor to be, sir, your obedient servant, EDWARD WALSH. Amount of capital proposed to he invested —Five thousand Pounds (£5000.) Proposed mode of luorking the land -By ground sluicing. Precise locality — Immediately below the Tuapeka. JBask, on tlie Tuapeka Biver, near its head. Terms for which lease required — Fifteen years. Time of commencing operations — Immediately on application being granted. The above application, and any objections thereto, will be heard before the Warden, at Lawrence, on the Gth day of March, 1872. Any person desiring to object to the granting of a mining lease upon the said application, must, within 22 clear days from the date of the said application, lodge his objections at my office. W. L. IN Conformity to the 29th Section of the " Gold Fields A*ct 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Golds Fields P ets Amendment Acts of 18G7, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease. for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease. Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Lawrence, on or beforo the 21st day of Febrnai-y, 1872.
