TELEGRAMS.

(From the " Da"y Time?.)" Grbymottth, February 12th

Accounts of the damage done by the floods have been received from the country districts. At the Brunner cr>al mines, stock, &c, to the extent of £700 was destroyed. The only buildings standing are the Commercial Hotul and Messrs Watson and Malloy's store. Horses and dairy cows have been lost. Mr. J. M. Campbell's store, stock, and horses, were swept away. Mr. M'Kenzie's land and crops were washed away. Tn the Grey Valley, Messrs. Ferguson and M'Cardy's crops and fencing have suffered severely. Two bridges have been destroyed at the Little Grey Junction, and Mr. Geo Barmon's store has been oarried away. At the Junction the crops are all damaged, and the river has broken away the old road, inundating several farms. At Terminus, Mr, Hardy's store was swept away. The whole country around Messrs Doolan and Deares's farm is flooded. At Moonlight Creek, Mr. Davey's store and hotel have gone bodily, and his stock aud garden have also disappeared. The stores of Messrs. Middleton, Gath, Aitken, and M'Gill, have also been destroyed, but the stock has for the most part been saved. At Keefton an immense landslip took place above tbe township, and the brewery and a number of houses were swept away. Most of the people at Greymouth passed Thursday night up trees. At Grey mouth over 70 houses and stores have been swept away.

The s.s. Coorong, Captain Ciarke, arrived at nine last nisjht, the passage occupying five days and three hours. Melbourne, January 6th.

The Wesleyan Conference has been sitting fifteen days. Mr. Hose proposed a Conference qf the New Zealand Colonies, which was opposed by Mr. Rig?, of Auckland. Mr. Buller, of the Thames, spoke in favour of the motion, which was carried.

Williams, a prisoner who was discharged from gaol lately, is supposed to hive got drunk, and gone on to the St. Kilda railway, and there been cut to pieces. Jluman remains, with clothes, believed tq be relics of Leichardt, have been brought from, eight hundred miles west of Brisb-ine.
