WAIPORI WESLEYAN CHURCH ANNIVERSARY.
The first anniversary of the Waipori Wesleyan churchjhas just been celebrated. On Sunday, the 21st, two sermons were preached by the Key. H. Bull ; and on the following day the tea and public meetings were held. Upon the tables was spread a sumptuous and well arranged fare, provided under the direction of Mrs." Pilling, to which about a hundred sat down, and did ample justice. The tables were presided over by Mesdames Wright and Manley, and the Misses Robinson. At the public meeting the need of a larger- building whs greatly felt. The chair was occupied by the Rev. Mr. Bull, and upon the platform were the Revs. J. Menzies, and Messrs. Webber and Clarke, by each of whom appropriate addresses were delivered. The financial result of the meeting was the complete riddance of the church from debt. Together with the ladies, by wliom the tea was provided, it was felt and acknowledged that the success of the meeting was greatly promoted by Mr. Booth, who presided at the harmonium, and the church choir.
