SIR, —I herewith deposit the sum of Twenty Pounds, as required by'the Mining Leases Regulations of Otago ? and I agree, if my application (the particulars of which are hereunder set forth) be investigated, that such sum shall, in all respects, be held subject to the terms of ' such regulations, and that upon the approvaj. of this Application, I will execute a lease upon the basis therein sjtated, if the Governor shall think fit to grant the same.— l have the honour to be, sir, ypur obedient servant, PETER MAY. Precise locality — At the head of Gabriels Gully, near Gabriels Bush, one mile from the prospecting claim of Marks and party, at Clark's fence, on the same line of reef. Terms for which lease required — Fifteen years, at a rental of £2 10s. per acre per annum. Time of commencing operations — Immediately on obtaining a certiiic,ate for the ground. The above application, and any objection thereto, will be heard before the Warden, at Lawrence, on the 31st day of January, 1872.
