WASTE LAND BOARD.
A meeting •of the Waste Land Board was held on Wednesday the 6th inst.
The application of Mr. Edward White, to purchase section 11, block XIII., Queenstown, and now a temporay Municipal Reserve, was declined.
Mr. Charles Nicholson protested against the sale of section 9, block 11., Ettrick, without his bi ing allowed valuation. Tbe application was referred to the district warden to apportion the share that each ocxjupiei* . was entitled to. '
The Eev. Mr. Telford, for the local Presbyterian body, applied to purchase section 7, block IV.. Ettrick. It was resolved that the land should be open to public competition at the next sale.
Mr. Allan M'Donald requested that if he discovered pastoral country on the western parts of the Province, he might have a lease without competition. It was resolved to grant leases, without competition, of pastoral country to parties wko had actually explored,, the same, and who would produce &' bona fide sketch — satisfactory to the, Chief Commissioner — as a guarantee of good faith." ' '" It was resolved that all temporary reserves now abandoned 'should be, specially advertised as such before^be-; ing put up for sale. N On a report of B.an2jerlrvmgoutne, application of Mr. Willian Dunn to. have sections .15 and 16, block t., Kaitaugata district, put up for sale, being read, it was carried that the land be advertised for sale by auction at the upset price of 10s per acre, and that it be offered for sale .at MilMfc " " !
