BLUE SPUR.

(From onr Own Correspondent.)

In consequence of the late unsettled weather, we are enjoying an abundance of water, consequently a great many of the claims are working long hours. On the 1 Munros side, Livingston & Co. are

busy washing, and anticipate a good washing up in a few weeks. Messrs. WMte and Co. washed up last week. Considering the small amount of ground put away, consisting mostly of pillars and blocks left from former operations, they were paid handsomely. They have now a splendid face on their claim, and fired a 30 cwt. blast the other day, which brought down a great quantity of stuff. The British American Company, . who were discovered some time ago by Mr. Adams, rhe surveyor, working in a cutting coutiguons to the Nelson Company, have had a splendid washing up, that is if we can judge by the frequent visits of one of the shareholders lately to Lawrence, with his hand well stretched under his coat pocket. They deserve all they get, as they are a most persevering party. The Nelson Company fired a small blast last week, and are starting to drive for a larger one. The Great Extended Company also fired a sir- all blast, and are getting their claim well opened up. There is no doubt but in a short time this claim will be one of the crack claims on the Spur.

A rather painful accident happened on Monday evening to Alexander Campbell, a miner working in the Perseverance claim, through a fall of cement. Beyond a few nasty bruises, he escaped without any serious injury.
