Young Abdallah is out of a thoroughbred mare, imported from Tasmania by John Weir, Esq., of the Western District, Victoria ; is 7 years old, and has proved himself a sure foal getter. He has left ,some of the mast promising stock in the province at the Clutha District. Abdallah (bred by Mr. Batson in 1847) was got by The Provost, out of Barbara ; Barbara was by Plenipotentiary, out of Sam, who was got by a son of Dick Andrews (Dick Andrews was by Joe Andrews, a son of Eclipse). The dam of Sam wjis got by Totteridge (Toiieridge was by Dungannon, a son of Eclipse), out of sister to Mariame, by Squirrel, out of Miss Meredith, by Cade Cson of the Godolphin Arabian), out of the Little Hartley Mare. The Little Hartley Mare was by Barlot'a Childers (own brother to Flying CMlders), out of Large Hartley Mare, whose pedigree in three generations can be traced to a royal mare. The Provost, the sire of Abadallah, was by The Saddler, out of Rebecca by Lotery ; her dam by Cervantes, out of Antiception ; mare of her dam by Benningbrook (Benningbrook by King Fergus, a son of Eclipse.) Mares served last year not in foal will be served free this year. Abdallah's stock in the Clutha District, are turning out the most durable weightcarrying hacks in the province. Jersey, by Buggan ; dam, Cobwew ; Cobweb's dam, Bay Middleton's clam ; Garryow.en's dam, Wisgig, by Whalebone, out of Waxy, by Webb. Maori Chief's dam was bred by Peter Peterson, Esq., of Lake Waipori, by Lottery ; Lottery was bred in New South Wales ; got by Hambledoh ; dam, Industry, hy Theoram, out of Spaewife, and imported to New Zealand by Mr. Redwood. Clydesdale is rising 7 years old, stands 16^ hands high, and is a beautiful dapple bay, with black points ; is of immense strength of bone, has fine symmetry of form, and superior action, and has proved himself a sure foal-getter. His stock is -well known in the Clutha District, having travelled that district four years ago, His sire, the well-known horse Napoleon, imported from Scotland by John Nimmo, Esq., West Taieri, gained many first prizes in Scotland, Otago, and Canterbury.- His pedigree is so well known as to need no comment His dam, Rose, oub of an imported mare, by the far-famed horse Black Leg. A colt from the same dam as Clydesdale was sold at Mosgiel Sale Yards in October,' 1871, for L3OO. TERMS, L 3, payable on or before Ist February, 1872 ; after that date LI extra will be charged.
