Young Abdamah is out of a. thoroughbred mare, imported from Tasmania by John Weir, Esq., of the Western District, Victoria ; is 7 years" old, and has proved himself a sure foal getter. He has left some of .the most promising stock in the province at the Clutha District. Abdallah (bred by Mr. Batspn in 1847) was got by The Provoßt, but of Barbara ; Barbara was by Plenipotentiary, out of Saffi r who was got by a Bon of Dick i Andrews (Dick Andrews was by Joe Andrews, -a son of Eclipse). The dam of. Saffl was got by Totteridge (Totteridge was by Dungannon, a son of Eclipse), out of. sister to Mariame, by Squirrel, out of Miss Meredith, by. Cade (son of the Godolphin Arabian), out of the Little Hartley Mare. The Little Hartley Mare was- by Barlot's Ohilders (own brother to Flying Ghilders), out of 'Large Hartley Mare, whose pedigree in three generations can be traced to a royal mare. The Provost, the sire of Abadallah, was by The Saddler, out of Rebecca by Lotery ; her dam by Cervantes, out of Antiception ; mare of her dam by Benningbrook (Benningbrook by King Fergus, a son of Eclipse.) Terms : -£3 on delivery of mares. A 600 acre" English grass paddock provided for mares, without responsibility. Mares served last year not in foal will be served free this year. Benger District, stopping at Mr. Mf Carthy's Dumbarton Rock Hotel, Moa Plat, and at the Teviot. Youwg Blaize is a rich black, rising five years old, stands 1H hands high, is possessed of immense power,' beautiful symmetry, splendid action, and mild iexopojr. _He was got by -that.. celehralficL horse Lord Clyde, which is known to have been by far the best and biggest horse ever imported to these shores. Lord Clyde was bred, by Mr. Brown, Dunsyre Mains, by Biggar. He gained the second premium, as a three-year-old, at the Highland Agricultural Society's Show at. Dumfries in 1860 ; also, a £40 prize at Newton Stewart in 1862, when fourteen horses competed, and carried off the East Cumberland Society's prize at Carlisle, in 1863, from twelve competitors, many of which were prize horses. His sire, is Young Blaize, the property of Mr.~ . Weir, Brown Hill, Carnwath, whose stock is unsurpassed by any horse in Lanarkshire. His grandsire, Mr. Thomas Inglis'. far-famed horse John Anderson my Joe, gained the prize of £40, in 1844, at Midcalder, and is sire to a great number of the Highland Society's prize slock. His dam is a pure-bred Clydesdale Mare, got by that well-known horse Old Watty, belonging to Mr. Climie, of Kilbarchan. * She is a rich black, stands 16| hands high, and has gained several prizes at the Highland Agricultural Society's Show. She was bought in Victoria by Mr. Edward Nicholson for the sum of £250, to go to Van Dieman's Land. His granddam, a daughter of Mr. Jackson's, of Stanley Muir, celebrated pure stallion, which obtained the Highland Society's first prize for aged horses at Edinburgh. - Lord Clyde is descended from Mr. Fram's, of Broomfield, far-famed breed of horses so wellknown throughout Lanarkshire. His dam Blossom, by Star, imported from Scotland by Mr. M'lntosh, of Moonee Ponds. Her dam, a heavy Van Dieman's Land mare, bred by the V. D. L. Co. Terms, £4, payable at the end of the Season. Groom's fee, ss, payable at first service. A large paddock, well grassed, will be provided for mares coming from a distance free of charge, and every attention paid, but without responsibility. M.
