The following is : a good illustration of the expedition with which Government business is transacted in the colony of New Zpojand. A petition, signed by somewhere about seventy gentlemen who wished to form a Volunteer Corps in Tuapeka. was forwarded to the authorities for arerptance twelve months ago. Several importunate letters followed the petition, but did not succeed in elicitinir a reply.
