ITALY AND SPAIN.
Eomf, August 13th.
An encyclical letter has been issued by the Pope, urging the faithful to offer up prayers for the freedom of the Holy See, and the triumph of the Church. Garibaldi is suffering from serious wounds. There is an improbable rumour that Victor Eman uel has offered to restore the Qnirinal to the Pope. A league was rumoured to have been formed by France and Spain to secure tho Pope's independence. Spain denied the truth of the rumour.
Spain sends a fleet to Venezuela, The filibusters are protested against.
