Tin's Society has been formed by an altpration of the Conscitution rf the Second New Zealand Building and Mutual Investment Society, 18G4. By its Constitution it is able to transact every description of business usually undertaken by Building Societies, both ou the terminating and the permanent principle. Two New Series of Shares, called Shares of Class A and Class B in the Permanent Seiies, are now being issued. Shares iv Class A are of the amount of twenty-five pounds each, the principal being paid up in one sum. On these half-yearly dividends are paid at the rate of nine per cent. I per annum, and an annual bonus out of the surplus profits. They may be withdrawn at any time on three months' notice, and form the most eligible investment for surplus funds now to be found in the money market. Shares in Class B are of twenty-five pounds each, and will be realised after seventy-five monthly payments of five shillings each have been made. The holders of them will also be entitled to a bonus on realisation, equal to a proportionate share of the surplus profits of the Society during the period over whi«h the monthly payments liare run. The moneys of the First and Second Series are advanced to Shareholders on mortgage of freehold or leasehold properties, or upon Shai-es \n the Society wholly or in part pdd up. The amounts available for advance are sold by auction at the monthly meetings to the highest bidder, who, from the date of the advance, pays a redemption fee of 10s. per month for each L6O Share advanced until the termination of the Series. Moneys of the Permanent Series are lent ~ on similar securities, repayable by monthly instalments extending over a fixed number of years.
