I )EEMANENT BUILDING SOCIETY L OF OTAGO. This Society has been formed by an alteration of the Constitution r{ the Second New Zealand Building aud Mutual Investment Society, 18G4. By its Constitution it is able to tran«nct every description of business usually uudertttkeu by BuiMing Societies, b >tlt on the termi ating and the permanent principle. Two Series of Shares on the terminating system are at present in force —one dutini; from Fehruan, 1864, and the othe* from Fe ruary, l»7o. They may be withdrawn ut any time on three mouths' notice, and lorm the most eligible investment for surplus funds now to be found in the money market. Shares in Class U are of twenty -five pounds each, and will be realised after seventy -five monthly payments af five shillings each have been made. The holders of them will as >bo entitled to a bonus on reuliaaUoii, eqial to a proportionate share of the surplus profits of tlie Sjotiely during the period over whi^h the monthly payments have run The moneys of the First and Second Series are advanced to Shareholders on mortgage of freehold or li asehoM propei t ies.nr upon Shires in the Soriety wholly or in part pad up. The amounts available for advance are sold by auction ut the monthly meetings to the highest 'bidder, who, from the date of the advance, pays a redemption fee of 10s. per month for ettch L6U Share advanced until the termiuation of th» Series. Moneys of the Ptrmanent Series are lent on ttimilar securities, repayable by monthly instalments extending over a fixed number of 3 ea-s.
