Messrs. Wkight, Stbvenson, and Co.report, for the week ending 29th July, as follows :—: —

Fat Cattle. — A full supply came forward, causing prices to rule a shade under last week's quotations. About 60 head of fair to middling quality were yarded, which we sold at from L42a 6 I to L 7 los, equal to 20s per lOOlbs tor fair quality, and 18s for middling do. Prime quality is worth fully 22i 6d per lOOlbs.

Fat Sheep. — The number penned was very limited, and a slight advance in pnee took place in consequence. Our sales consisted of 170 merino ewe?, poor quality, at 6s 3d each. Other sale 3 were — 15J half-breds, poor quality, at 7s 6d ; 100 do, good quality, 14s. We quote goo I quality half-brocU 3d pyr lb ; do merinos, 2jd ; inidal.ng quality, 2d.

Store Cattle and Store Shdep. — No transactions.

Horses. — Our sale on Saturday was. onrined to light and inferior stock, (iood young diaiuhis and coach or cab horses are in demand. We quote firstclass draughts, LSO to L 55 ; middling do, 1.25 to L3J ; good hacks and light harness horses, Llo to L2O ; middling do, L 9 to Ll2 ; lyht and inferior, L 3 to L 6.

Wool. — Our advices received via California, under date of 3lst May, say :—: — " The second series of public sales of colonial wool for the current year com-, induced on the 13th ult., and closed on the 16th instant. There has been throughout a very good attendance of noth home and Continental buyers, and the latter operated to an unexpected extent, taking altogether about 60 per cent, of the quantity sold. Prices showed a hardening tendency from the opening to the middle, since when there has been, a slight reaction, sales, however, closing with spirit at full average rates of the series. The small instalment of New Zealand wool received compares favourably with last year's growth. Greasy has ihown the same advance as that description from other parts. AU deep grown fleece and scoured have improved Id to L|d per lb, whilst middle and poor parcels have likewise shown considerable improvement on last sales prices. The next public sale 3 will commence on 22nd June, when there are likely to be upwards of 200,000 bales."

Grain.— The market remains without change. Wheat is in fair demand at 5s 6d to 5s 9d per bushel for good samples, ( >ats : Feed are worth 2s to 2a 31 ; milling, 2s 5d per bushel. Barley, with the exception of malting samples, is neglected.
